Fat Lynx Media goes full-time...

Fat Lynx Media is the brainchild of web developer Jason Vickers ( Hampton, VA) and graphic designer Marc Rasmussen (Williamsburg, VA). It is the product of self-determination and a love for the craft that we have dedicated our lives to. What began as a part-time project by a couple of college classmates, is about to become one of the hottest web development firms in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
What this business comes down to is our passion for what we do. We eat, breath, and sleep our jobs, always keeping up with the latest technologies, trends, and standards. This is vitally important to the client because not only do you want a site that is functional and scalable, but you also want a design that can grab the attention of your customer and keep them looking. People are visual by nature, so you can have a site that functions perfectly, but if it looks like a technological regurgitation, there is a good chance that the customer will go elsewhere.
So, what technologies do we use to build your site? Most of our server-side programming is done in a Linux environment, using PHP for scripting and MySQL for data storage. Our developers make use of Rapid Development Frameworks (
Prado
and coming soon,
Yii
) which allows us to create a more secure environment for your data. Other than standard functionality, our ability to develop custom applications is only limited by your imagination.
We are extrememly happy to be taking Fat Lynx Media full-time and we look forward to working with the businesses of Hampton Roads.

We at Fat Lynx Media are proud to announce our new partnership with Enternet Designs, a full service web design company based in Portsmouth, Virginia that is headed up by Owner Tiffany Harris.
Why did we decide on this partnership?
Because web development is such a competitive market and because of the difficulties a small business has in covering all technologies included therein, Tiffany and I understood how beneficial it would be to pool our knowledge and resources together in order to have the ability of providing solutions to any need that a client may have and in turn, providing a larger workforce.

Church / Non-Profit Discount Program

We at Fat Lynx Media understand the great benefit that churches and non-profits bring to our community. They not only provide a positive atmosphere to their members, but also help shape individuals into caring and productive members of our society. Without these organizations, there would be many left without help and without guidance.
Fat Lynx Media would like to be a part of the solution.
In order to help in the process of giving, we are willing offer our services to these organizations at a free* or very discounted rate; this is our way of letting you know that we appreciate the services that you provide, whether they be providing a place of worship, feeding and clothing the less fortunate, or taking care of abandoned animals.
Do you qualify for this discount?
If your organization is a church or non-profit and you are located within the Hampton Roads, Virginia area, then yes, you qualify.
How do we request our free or discounted site?
In order for you to receive your site, we ask that you send us an email containing your contact information and a description of services that your organization provides. If you are a non-profit, we do require proof of your non-profit status. With churches, we would like for you to also provide the name and location (physical address) of your church.

We will be giving away two free website per year (one church and one on-profit). These sites are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. After the initial two sites have been given away, we will offer all other churches and non-profits the same service at a very discounted rate.
